Volunteer or Become an Intern

We always welcome volunteers! Please email friends@forltc.org or call 919-782-1530 to discuss your interest in volunteering. We’d love to talk with you about your interests and find a way for you to become a meaningful part of our work.

Interns

We are currently accepting applications for graduate and undergraduate internships. Hours and projects are flexible. We will work with you or your program to develop an individualized internship that reflects your interest in the field of long-term care. We welcome students from the fields of law, social work, gerontology, public health, non-profit development, journalism, and graphic design.

Example projects:

• Conduct legal research on topics such as residents' rights, advanced health care planning, fines and penalties, discharge and housing rights, informed consent, etc.

• Develop fact sheets and educational materials on topics such as paying for long-term care, home health services, self-advocacy, etc.

• Help create videos and images for our website, social media, and outreach materials.

• Assist with outreach campaigns to increase fundraising and membership.
